Can I have laser hair removal if I have blonde hair?
We’ve had success with blonde and red hair, however, we assess each case individually.

Yes! Our technology has allowed us to successfully remove hair on darker skin types for over 25 years!
Why does Arbutus Laser Centre not offer hair removal packages?
Our goal is to get the area hair-free in as few sessions as possible. We don’t want you to charge for more sessions than you need.
Can I have laser hair removal with a tan?
We can not safely and most effectively remove hair with a tan. That includes self-tanner and sun beds too!
Is it possible to have regrowth after laser hair removal?
We treat the hair growth that is currently there, not the growth that may occur as you age. Some areas, like the lower legs, are more predictable because the growth is more stable. Other areas, such as the face, are more likely to develop new growth as you get older.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Once a follicle has been destroyed, it will never produce hair again.
How many treatments will it take to remove my hair permanently?
It depends on the area and whether the growth is stable. That’s why we offer complimentary consultations. Generally, we expect to remove about 90% of bikini line hair in 3-6 visits.
Can I wax or pluck before, during, or after laser hair removal?
We can not laser hair that is pulled out of the hair follicle. We recommend cutting or shaving instead.
How old do you have to be to start laser hair removal?
Hair removal can be attempted at any age, however stable growth has a more predictable outcome. We prefer to treat after puberty—usually around 18 years old.
Is laser hair removal painful?
Great question! The short answer is yes, however we have many strategies to help you manage the discomfort. If you’ve survived waxing, tweezing, or electrolysis, you’ll survive laser hair removal too. We always find a way to get you through it.
What is the difference between laser hair removal and electrolysis?
While lasers are fantastic tools, they’re not suitable for every problem. Electrolysis targets hair that lasers can not, such as white/grey hair. We want to help you decide what’s best for you.
