Can I have laser hair removal if I have blonde hair?

We are having some really good success on blond and red hair, but we assess on a case by case basis. If you have lighter coloured hair, we won’t even attempt to treat if you have ANY tan.

Can I have laser hair removal if I have a dark skin type?

YES. We have had technology for more than 15 years that allows us to treat all skin types.

Why does the Arbutus Laser center not offer hair removal packages?

It is our goal to get the area hair free, in as few sessions as possible. We don’t want you to pay for more sessions than you need. We also don’t think it is right to lock you into a relationship with us. If we don’t treat you right EVERY visit, you have the right to take your money elsewhere.

Can I have laser hair removal with a tan?

Not really. Not safely. Not most effectively.

Is it possible to have re-growth after laser hair removal?

We can only treat the growth that you have, not the growth that you are going to get as you age. Some sites, like lower legs, are more predictable because the growth is more stable. Other sites, such as faces, are more likely to continue to sprout new growth as we get older.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Once a follicle has been destroyed, that follicle will never produce a hair again.

How many treatments will it take to remove my hair permanently?

It depends on the site and whether the growth is stable or not. It’s why we give complimentary consultations. We generally expect to remove 90% of your bikini line hair in 3-6 visits.

Can I wax before, during or after laser hair removal?

If you rip them out, we can’t treat them. Please cut or shave!

How old do you have to be to start laser hair removal?

Hair removal can be attempted at any age but stable growth treats more predictably so we prefer to not treat most sites until puberty is really over … we like 18 years.

Is Laser hair removal painful?

Love this question! The short answer is yes. That being said, we don’t generally lose patients because of the pain factor. We have lots of strategies for managing people through this process and we do it all day, every day. If you have survived waxing, tweezing or electrolysis, you will survive laser hair removal. If you want to get rid of your hair, we will find a way to get you through it too.

What is the difference between laser hair removal and electrolysis?
