Decorative and traumatic
We have 3 different lasers (including the latest Pico) with 4 different wavelengths for the removal of most tattoo colors. Multiple treatments are required, but scarring is unusual. Amateur tattoos respond the best. Our lasers are also helpful in removing the tattoos used for radiation markers in cancer treatments (please see below for more information), and for removing traumatic tattoos for accidents (“road rash tattoos”) Treatment discomfort can be controlled by using a topical anaesthetic such as EMLA, available at our clinic.
Consultation for tattoo removal is $125 and is applied to your first treatment, which can possibly done at the same visit. Treatments do not respond as well if you have a sun tan. Several treatments may be required depending on your desired results. Please call 604-731-5512 to book your appointment.
We are excited to announce joining the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) “New Beginnings” program in offering complimentary radiation mark removal.

Vancouver, B.C. – Arbutus Laser Center has volunteered in the New Beginnings: Radiation Mark Removal Program, a national philanthropic campaign, coordinated by the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS), offering free radiation mark removal for cancer patients.
“Although I have been removing radiation marks at no cost for the past 17 years, I am excited about being part of this new program which will hopefully reach more people” commented Dr. Gerald Boey (Medical director of Arbutus Laser Center)
Arbutus Laser Center has joined over 150 certified ASLMS members who have volunteered to remove radiation marks (a.k.a. tattoos) absolutely free of charge for cancer survivors so that they can have the new beginning they deserve. The number of ASLMS members enrolling in the program is growing by the day.
“The ASLMS membership includes very generous and caring medical professionals, just like Arbutus Laser Center, who believe they can make a difference in the lives of cancer patients across the U.S. through their time and expertise,” commented Jeffrey S. Dover, M.D., FRCPC, Past President of the ASLMS. “We are pleased that Arbutus Laser Center is participating.”
Physicians at Arbutus Laser Center are ASLMS members in good standing to ensure that patients receive the very best treatment.
