Skin Treatments

Rosacea

Rosacea is a condition characterized by inflammation, flushing and pimples affecting the nose, chin, cheeks and forehead. With time, a prominent feature is enlarged facial veins and an enlarged nose.

Treatment options, besides standard medical management, include IPL (intense pulsed light), PDL (pulsed dye laser) and the KTP (Excel V) laser.

The goal is to control inflammation by topical or oral antibiotics, and the redness and flushing by laser. There is no cure for Rosacea, but with aggressive therapy, the symptoms and signs can be significantly reduced.

Several treatments are typically needed and maintenance therapy is required thereafter. Redness and swelling may occur post treatment for a few days.

A referral from a physician is needed to book a consultation for rosacea. For more information, please call 604-731-5512.
