Ultrasound guided sclerotherapy is used to treat veins that are difficult to see or treat veins that recur after venous surgery.
The physician maps out the incompetent vein during assessment. Once the venous mapping is complete, the physician proceeds to inject the vein under ultrasound guidance.
Compression will be worn for up to 5-10 days. Success rates are high, but in some cases, a second injection may be needed.
